Happy Birthday Scorpios! Late October through November is the time we get to celebrate our feisty friends who bring that special sting into our lives.
The sign of Scorpio originally oriented from the story of Orion, the son of Poseidon and Euryale. Orion fell in love with Artemis, the Greek goddess of hunting and the daughter of Zeus and Leto. Artemis’s twin brother, Apollo, became angry with Orion and sent a scorpion to kill him. Succeeding, Artemis vowed to never love again and asked her father to place a constellation of Orion in the sky so that she may always look and see him amongst the stars. Zeus honored her wishes by placing the symbol of the Scorpion.
Being a water sign, Scorpios are a sign of sex and death, the beginning and ending of life. They are a sign of transformation and merging of energies. Scorpios are magnetic and can heal or kill with just a single look.
Scorpios are ruled by Mars and Pluto. According to ancient Roman mythology, Mars was the God of War and represents assertiveness, survival and sexuality. Pluto was the God of the Underworld and represents spirituality, power, transformation and self-development.
Scorpios are born leaders and have dedication and commitment to every task they decide to take on. They require a challenge and the expect nothing but the best. Their calm and mysterious demeanor allows them to take on the world around them. They live to experience and express their emotions and to understand and interact with the rules of the universe.
In regards to love and sex, Scorpio is the most sensual zodiac sign. Their relationships consist of an explosion of passion and intimacy. They are slow to trust their partner at first because they need time to value and respect them, but once they fall in love, they are completely faithful and dedicated. Scorpios must also be the dominant partner in a relationship; they despise being controlled and require an abundance of sex, money and love from their partner. If their lover is up for the challenge of discovering what is beneath their mysterious surface, they are in for the ride of their life. Scorpios are matched with Cancer, Capricorn, Pisces and Virgo.
