The Month of the Capricorn

Happy Birthday Capricorns! Through December 22nd-January 19th, we get to celebrate the birthdays of our favorite down-to-earth friends, who always keep us in check!

Capricorns are described as the sea-goat, with their lower half consisting of a fish tail and the upper body of a goat. According to mythology, sea-goats were extremely favored by the gods, and were considered to be honorable and intelligent creatures who could live on both land and sea.

Pricus, the original father of all sea-goats, feared greatly for his children because they would frequently visit the shore. The longer a sea-goat was on land, the more it began to turn into just a goat, losing their ability to speak and think logically. Once completely becoming a goat, they could never return to the sea.

After losing several of his children, Pricus decided to reverse time so that he may warn his children and forbid them from ever stepping on land. However, despite his efforts, his children still disobeyed him and found their way onto land, fulfilling their destiny of morphing into goats. After multiple attempts to reverse time, Pricus gave up and begged Chronos, the god of time, to kill him so that he will not have to live as the only sea-goat left. Chronos did not kill him, but instead sent him to live amongst the stars as the constellation Capricorn.

Capricorns, an earth sign, embody discipline and professionalism. They are considered to be the most serious-minded of all the zodiac signs. They are masters of self-control and taking leadership roles. Capricorns are always one step ahead, making lists and calculating their every move.

Ruled by Saturn, Capricorns are constantly placing rules and restrictions around themselves, making them great at financial planning, but also making it difficult for them to work well with others. Capricorns struggle the most with accepting others’ perspective and points of view, wanting everything to be the way they planned it.

When it comes to sex, love, and relationships, Capricorns become very committed once you have earned their trust and respect. However, they cannot be rushed and must feel like a relationship is their idea. Capricorns cannot being forced to enter into anything that they have not had proper time to think about and consider. They are great people to start a life and family with; they will always keep things organized and are very dependable!
