I love the idea of strong women still being teenage. When I went to Tokyo, one of the things I loved the most was seeing these awesome grandmas with blue hair and spike chain necklaces. Age didn't seem to dictate what you could wear as much, and I love the idea of the teenage spirit living longer in lifestyle and aesthetic than our culture allows. Being teenage is about being free, trying new things, and figuring out who you are. It’s a time of staring into clouds, firsts, staying up all night, and not caring. Being teenage isn’t an age, it’s a way of life.

Rocky Calderon is a Xicana makeup artist from East LA whose hair is an always changing work of art. Her carefree personality makes her style effortlessly punk and her love for makeup, motocross, and monsters brings a unique voice to her wardrobe.

When she's not turning her friends into zombies, the self-proclaimed adrenaline junkie can be found riding rollercoasters, zipping through the desert on a motorcycle, or standing on the edge of tall cliffs and looking down.

She credits her love for gore and comics to her father and is proud of her Mexican heritage. I’ve always been drawn to Rocky, because she is one of the sweetest and most genuine people you will ever meet, while still maintaining her powerful badass essence. Her favorite treat is rock candy, she loves men who look like Jesus, and she makes blood and guts look cute. Check out her Instagram for monster inspiration or to hire her for all of your film and glam shoot needs. #stayteenage
