This is a series made in the midst of the New York City lockdown. Photo shoots can only be done socially-distanced right now, and I’ve been feeling like I’m in some kind of time warp. Not only do I have a lot of time on my hands because many jobs have halted during the lockdown, but it doesn’t really feel like I’m living in the present anymore. Life in general doesn’t make much sense, and we don’t really follow schedules or routines as vigorously as we once did.

I thought I would emulate this feeling by using old electronics and modernizing them with FaceTime shoots—creating some kind of time warp. I chose models that I’ve photographed in the past, as I wanted to connect with them in a new way. Kiersten lives in Brooklyn right now, and Tai is staying with her family in Texas while she waits out the virus. Everyone seems to be traveling all over the country trying to find somewhere to patiently wait for the virus to pass.
