The skin is the largest organ of the body, but it is often neglected. Most of us don’t pay our skin any mind unless we have a problem such as acne or dry skin. Glowing skin may seem impossible, but there are a few easy ways to get your skin to glow without spending a ton of money.

Sleep. Sleep is one of the best ways to get your skin to glow. During sleep the body refreshes and repairs skin cells, hydrates and releases hormones that reduce inflammation.

Hydration. When properly hydrated the body’s cells can function better, resulting in a clearer, brighter complexion.

Clean. The skin can easily absorb what is in the environment, in addition to the accumulation of sweat and dead skin cells. Every day, keep skin clean by using facial soaps and body washes that can deep clean without stripping your skin of moisture. When skin is clean, there is a lower chance of skin irritation.

Exfoliate. When skin cells refresh, the old ones remain. Exfoliating the face and body will remove the old cells and reveal the healthy new skin.

SPF. The harmful rays of the sun can break down skin and cause sunburn, sun spots, and other skin damage. Use a lotion or a lotion/SPF combo to protect the skin.

Food. You are what you eat. For many, an unhealthy diet, especially one high in processed food, can result in oily skin, breakouts, and inflammation. Avoiding processed foods and eating nutrient rich fruits and vegetables can not only benefit the body, but help keep skin remain clear.

Glowing skin is obtainable and it only takes a few changes to get there. These changes can be tried all together or one at a time. No matter your skin type, with just a little work, you can have healthy and glowing skin.
