Fringes: hidden pockets of poverty

In this investigative documentary, director Ines Donfack explores the hidden pockets of poverty in Montgomery County, Maryland. It's the twelfth richest county in the entire country, yet 69,755 people live below the poverty line. During the filming process, Ines interviewed city personnel, homeless shelters, nonprofits, and low-income community members in an attempt to understand what's causing this enormous, county-wide divide; ultimately, she concluded that the biggest reason is a minimum wage that does not reflect the high cost of living.
