I’m a 17 year old illustrator and artist focusing on making pieces that accurately capture and express the intense pain and emotional turmoil that comes with clinical mental illness. The girls I draw represent struggle, and confusion but they also epitomize strength. There is strength in vulnerability, there is power is admitting that you are broken down. I began drawing originally as a distraction from the severe chronic pain that I have as a result of my Sickle cell zero beta thalassemia, but it quickly turned into my coping mechanism and form of expressing and communicating my struggles with my depression and anxiety.
