Jason Daniel Weaver is a 21 year old writer, poet, musician and advocate for disability rights from the UK. JD is a sufferer of Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a life-limiting neuromuscular condition that leads to the eventual degeneration of muscle tissue. Due to the stigma surrounding disability and the socio-economic realities of being in a marginalized community, JD became increasingly aware of the barriers that surrounded his community as he grew older. As someone who has always been "othered", JD relies upon creative mediums in order to express his voice and leave a legacy. He writes because he believes he would be dishonest with himself and the world around him if he didn't voice his grieveances through writing and poetry.
