Ameerah de Chabert (b. 1999) is a young Caribbean-American woman from Atlanta, Georgia. Born in the Bronx of New York City, she grew up in a family with a long legacy of art. Despite her background in music, writing, and ballet, Ameerah was always most drawn to the stories, feelings, and visually stunning scenes that films could offer. As the lows of adolescence lit the fire of her potential, she realized while attending the 10th grade at DeKalb School of Arts that she wanted to pursue art for the rest of her life – through filmmaking and photography. Ameerah’s focus on capturing moments in time that tell stories, elicit emotions, and/or communicate something to the viewer translates into a body of work that is both intimate and candid.
