USA Network’s psychological-computer hacking-thriller Mr. Robot is a series shrouded in action and mystery. The show has proven itself as a force to be reckoned with by earning Emmy and Golden Globe awards in acting, writing, and production. It is a powerful hit with fans because so many relate to the imperfect characters on the show, as well as the real world issues the show deals with. The show contains highly skilled individuals who are using their gifts to try to create change in the world, but the question is, will they be successful?
We got a chance to speak with the cast of Mr. Robot, and they gave us some juicy details on what to expect for the rest of this season and the next.
We Go Deeper Into Elliot’s Mind
Viewers will see the fallout of fsociety’s five/nine victory. Elliot will be looking to see if these changes are made permanent, and how citizens adjust. “The struggle is about being isolated, low-caste, but using what I have to give the people the freedoms they deserve,” Malek smiles. “But are Elliot’s ideals for the good of everyone? When you seek to alter society’s way of life, casualties do happen for the common good. This is something that Elliott will notice and deal with internally.” The audience is about to get deep into Elliot’s psyche. He is dealing with so much: with the fsociety changes, the death of someone close, and with law enforcement, it’s almost unbearable that fans have to wait to see it all unfold.
Expect A Revamped Soundtrack
Remember the sounds of Neil Diamond playing along in those season one hacking scenes? Well, expect that and much more this season. The music will have a hardcore feel as things get even deeper and darker, so the producers want to make sure the soundtrack leaves a lasting effect.
Dominique DiPerro Has To Make A Choice
“Law enforcement is bringing down the hammer this season. There will be consequences for fsociety’s mischief,” says Grace Gummer, who plays FBI agent Dominique DiPerro. “Many doors will open up for my character, who begins to examine if she is on the right side of the law.” Dominique’s obsessive nature makes her dangerous because of her constant need for positive affirmation. “Things are not always what they seem,” says Gummer mysteriously. “She is out for answers and will stop at nothing, and I mean nothing, until she gets the truth.” Dominique is an unpredictable character who is clearly at a fork in the road and her story arc can really go either way, but the past tells us that it will be something no one will expect.
Speaking with the cast, you notice how hard it is for them to talk about the show without giving too much away. The element of surprise is what keeps the audience and even the actors on their feet. “Sometimes we don’t even know what’s going on, and that adds to the experience of it all,” says Rami Malek. Man, as crazy as the Mr. Robot story already is, could you imagine showing up to the set and not knowing what you’re getting into? Ha! I guess that’s show business for you.
You can catch Mr. Robot every Wednesday at 10pm on the USA cable network!
