Going out dancing in the Chicago winter always took initiative. My friends and I could spend a warm evening inside with soup and 2000s music videos, but more often than not, something compelled us to put on winter coats, hop on the Red Line, and risk the sub-zero temperatures.

This winter is quieter, chillier; it’s cold but there’s nowhere to be warm in a crowd. This playlist brings me to the winter dancefloor of my dreams, full of glitter and icicles and white strobe lights. The coat check is free and we’re all dressed in velvet. Until we can go there, I’ll be dancing to these songs in my basement!
