FBI Director James Comey spoke out on Monday in regards to Russia’s involvement with the campaign and Trump's wiretapping theories.

At a hearing held before the House Intelligence Committee, Comey had everyone at the edge of their seats as he announced that after an initial investigation, it was clear that Russian President Vladimir Putin had a preference for who he wanted to see become the next U.S. President -- and (major shocker) it was not Hillary.

"They wanted to hurt our democracy, hurt her, help him. I think all three we were confident in at least as early as December," Comey said.

For the first time, Comey confirmed that his agency is now in the process of thoroughly investigating a possible collusion between the Trump administration and Russia, stating that if any evidence is found, that it would be “one of the most shocking betrayals of our democracy in history.”.

During the hearing, Comey also addressed Trumps accusations that his predecessor, Barack Obama, had been spying on him throughout the campaign using wiretaps. A claim that Comey confirmed that he could no support, due to the lack of evidence support. He also stated that no president has the authority to order a wiretapping operation against any American citizen.

"I have no information that supports those tweets," Comey told the committee, as well as confirming that the Justice Department and the FBI could not support the allegations either.

Attempting to pull attention away from the hearing, and the claims that his allegations were inaccurate, Trump began frantically tweeting early Monday morning, making his typically accusations about fake news, and Clinton's involvement with the Russians.

6:35a.m.: James Clapper and others stated that there is no evidence Potus colluded with Russia. This story is FAKE NEWS and everyone knows it!

6:49a.m.: The Democrats made up and pushed the Russian story as an excuse for running a terrible campaign. Big advantage in Electoral College & lost!

7:02a.m.: The real story that Congress, the FBI and all others should be looking into is the leaking of Classified information. Must find leaker now!

9:14a.m.: What about all of the contact with the Clinton campaign and the Russians? Also, is it true that the DNC would not let the FBI in to look?

During the hearing, Trump’s spokesman Sean Spicer made a statement claiming that Trump would not be apologizing to Obama for his accusations -- another major shocker...
