Last month, I graduated high school and the day after flew 2,000 miles across the country by myself to Los Angeles, California. I stayed in a small guest home in Mar Vista, California and spent my 6 days there experiencing the West Coast. I got to spend time with my team at Adolescent working on really cool projects and I also got to visit a few of my friends who showed me around their city. Being across the country all by myself was a liberating experience, and I felt so grown-up—especially after just graduating high school.

California is such a scenic place and I was astounded by its intense beauty. Every moment called for documentation in photo or video form. Visiting Malibu was by far one of the best experiences of my trip. Richelle, Maddy and I drove down PCH listening to Lorde's new album and watching the sun go down behind the palm trees.

When we arrived in Malibu, the sky had just turned pink. We walked all the way up to Point Dume and spent the rest of the sunset shooting photos and admiring the view. It was an incredible and irreplaceable experience.

I have come to the conclusion that California is superior in colors, weather and coastal drives. I can’t wait to come back!
