We thought we'd post something exploring themes of intimacy mediated through technology. This video is from Director Genevieve Nollinger. The following is her artist statement:

An exploration of how my relationship to intimacy has been affected by technology. Texting is unique because it allows instant communication without the pressure of a face-to-face or even spoken interaction, and I often find that people say things in a text that they might not say to me in real life. I struggle to relate to the simulations of emotional intimacy that can be created behind a screen- so many of these messages felt strangely impersonal. It is overwhelming to be on the receiving end of a constant stream of someone else’s digital feelings while still trying to figure out your own thoughts about the apparent variables and contradictions of sex, love, and monogamy.
